WELCOME  to the PhD Platform site of the HRSMC

We now have a so-called "PhD platform " installed;. This PhD platform is formed by PhD students who act as a mediator between you and the Board and Commisions of the HRSMC.

If you have any questions or remarks about the HRSMC courses and schools (besides the practical ones that can be answered by the HRSMC office) you can turn to the PhD Platform. (In the near future, we will introduce a discussion site to facilitate this even more).

E.g. Do you have any suggestions for a new course, would you like to expand the HRSMC courses on a particular subject, etc. etc.

The members of the PhD Platofrm are:

• VACANCY (formerly occupied by Janneke van der Niet, PhD student in the Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Group of prof.dr Marc Koper at the UL)
• Matthijs Panman, PhD student in the Molecular Photonics Group of prof.dr Wybren Jan Buma/ prof.dr Fred Brouwer, at the UvA
• Linde Smeenk, PhD student in the Synthetic Organic Chemistry Group of prof.dr Henk Hiemstra/prof.dr Peter Timmerman at the UvA
• Lando Wolters, PhD student in the Theoretical Chemistry Group of prof.dr Evert Jan Baerends, prof.dr Matthias Bickelhaupt and prof.dr Luuk Visscher at the VU

One of the outcomes of the first meeting of the PhD platform is that they suggested that the HRSMC should organize a yearly social activity for all UvA, VU and UL PhD students who are a member of the HRSMC.

The Board of the HRSMC happily embraced this idea and the first  event was organized on June 9, 2011 in Leiden.
